Conversano

Conversano has a population of 24.071 inhabitants (Conversanesi) and a surface of 126,9 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 189,7 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 219 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Conversano had a popolation of 22.641 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 24.071 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of 6% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 8.562 families with an average of 2,81 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 35 and 349 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 314 metres.

Work and workers:There are 405 industrial firms employing 1.830 people that are the 32,56% of the total of the workers. There are 577 service firms employing 1.277 people that are the 22,72% of the total of the workers. There are also 409 firms employing 1.476 people that are the 26,26% of the total of the workers. There are also 77 administrative offices emplying 1.037 workers that are the 18,45% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 5.620 workers, that are the 23,35% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
