Modugno

Modugno has a population of 35.980 inhabitants (Modugnesi) and a surface of 31,9 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 1.127,9 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 79 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Modugno had a popolation of 37.056 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 35.980 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -3% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 11.490 families with an average of 3,13 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 45 and 106 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 61 metres.

Work and workers:There are 785 industrial firms employing 13.265 people that are the 68,00% of the total of the workers. There are 883 service firms employing 2.774 people that are the 14,22% of the total of the workers. There are also 538 firms employing 2.152 people that are the 11,03% of the total of the workers. There are also 123 administrative offices emplying 1.317 workers that are the 6,75% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 19.508 workers, that are the 54,22% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
