Cerignola

Cerignola has a population of 57.366 inhabitants (Cerignolani) and a surface of 593,46 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 96,6 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 120 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Cerignola had a popolation of 55.052 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 57.366 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of 4% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 18.516 families with an average of 3,10 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 2 and 285 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 283 metres.

Work and workers:There are 707 industrial firms employing 2.303 people that are the 29,17% of the total of the workers. There are 1.319 service firms employing 1.924 people that are the 24,37% of the total of the workers. There are also 693 firms employing 1.855 people that are the 23,50% of the total of the workers. There are also 102 administrative offices emplying 1.813 workers that are the 22,96% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 7.895 workers, that are the 13,76% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
