Foggia

Foggia has a population of 155.203 inhabitants (Foggiani) and a surface of 507,72 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 305,6 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 76 metres above the sea level.

Population: The municipality of Foggia had a popolation of 156.268 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 155.203 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -1% inhabitants.

The inhabitants are distributed in 48.292 families with an average of 3,21 people per family.

The place: The territory of the municipality lies between 19 and 310 metres above sea level.

The altimetric spawn is thus of 291 metres.

Work and workers:There are 2.016 industrial firms employing 9.365 people that are the 23,70% of the total of the workers. There are 3.390 service firms employing 6.633 people that are the 16,78% of the total of the workers. There are also 2.735 firms employing 10.457 people that are the 26,46% of the total of the workers. There are also 554 administrative offices emplying 13.063 workers that are the 33,06% of the total of the workers.

There is a total of 39.518 workers, that are the 25,46% of the inhabitants of the municipality.
